Terms and Condtions    


  1. If a quotation is prepared for your function, the price is calculated according to the number of Guests requested at the time. Any alteration to these numbers may result in the price being changed.
  2. Functions with Guest numbers less than thirty (30), service staff will be charged separately in addition at cost. We would be happy to quote for this with your function should it be necessary.
  3. We require a guaranteed minimum Guest count three (3) weeks prior to the event, in writing please. Your charges will be based on these numbers. We will always try and accommodate increases in Guest count up to 24 hours before your function but cannot guarantee this in all cases. Additional Guests notified after agreement will be added to the final amount on an agreed per-head basis. (Not applicable to prize/gift certificate winners where the Guest numbers are fixed)
  4. Contact. Clients will be asked to notify JOAN E. WOLFORD, SAVOIR FARE LIMITED with whom all arrangements should be made and where all correspondence should be addressed.



There is a fifty (50) Guest minimum for catering an event off premise from the Savoir Fare Restaurant. For parties with less than fifty (50) Guests, we suggest allowing us to host your event at our Restaurant or preordering and picking up the food (we'll even lend you serving equipment if you promise to bring it back promptly). Pick-up orders must piggyback off scheduled menus from the reqested week's catering events or the dinner menu (posted every Wednesday).


(For event catering; not applicable for prize winners or gift certificate recipients)

Upon receipt of signed Contract with the 50% deposit within 60 days of Contract date ($500.00 of deposit is non-refundable), Savoir Fare will reserve your event date and send out a receipt for the deposit, acknowledging receipt of the deposit for your records.

Three (3) weeks prior to event:
Final menu and Guest count is due to SAVOIR FARE LIMITED LLC in writing (preferably via email,

Two (2) weeks prior to event:
Balance of payment is due, made payable to SAVOIR FARE LIMITED LLC

Savoir Fare gladly accepts cash, personal check, cashier’s check, and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, and Discover). Payments made via credit card over $500.00 will be subject to a 2.5% service fee. $35.00 returned check fee. Payments not received by the above mentioned deadlines are subject to a 6% late fee. All prices are subject to Virginia sales and use tax for all tangible goods at the current rate. By signing the Contact, you accept the Terms and Conditions.



Cancellation within ninety (90) days will incur a cancellation fee of 25% of the total Contract.



Should any equipment or facility not be working that is out of the control of the chef it is the Client’s responsibility and no compensation can be given. The Chef will do their best to ensure the continuation of the event to the best of their ability but cannot be responsible for equipment failure (i.e cookers, power points, etc). While working in your home it is your duty to provide a safe environment for SAVOIR FARE LIMITED LLC staff to work.



Please provide further instructions/requests to SAVOIR FARE LIMITED LLC in full written and verbal telephone correspondence. SAVOIR FARE LIMITED LLC is not responsible should they fail to be carried out if said correspondence is not complete. SAVOIR FARE LIMITED LLC must be given a full breakdown of the Venue and Client requirements prior to the job.



We will provide special diets or vegetarian meals at no extra charge. All requests must be made, at the latest, by the time of confirming final numbers.



For off premises event catering, It is policy for Clients to provide their own beer, wine and/or alcohol. If you reserve the Savoir Fare Event Room, SAVOIR FARE LIMITED LLC will gladly supply beer and wine for your event.



Gift certificates donated or purchased from SAVOIR FARE LIMITED LLC expire within one (1) year of the date listed on the certificate. All gift certificates are subject to Virginia sales and use tax for all tangible goods at the current rate and tip.



SAVOIR FARE LIMITED carries full insurance coverage. However it is highly recommended for functions involving costly arrangement, Venues, travel and catering etc. that adequate insurance is taken out. Many firms will arrange this type of one off cover, even to cover the event of bad weather for an outside event. In the unlikely situation of you having to cancel a booking at the last minute at least you will have peace of mind.



We try to absorb any small breakages or accidental damage to our own equipment crockery or cutlery, however any willful or deliberate damage will be charged at full replacement cost, inclusive of any and all subcontracted rental equipment. We are not responsible for third party damage to goods from other hire companies.

We are fully insured for the unlikely event of damage caused by ourselves.
