Bio: Tabby Finch performs a unique repertoire of folk traditions. Celtic jigs, hornpipes, Appalachian hoedowns, New England contradances, old-time Americana, South American waltzes, marches, polkas, and songs– continue time-honored traditions, plucked, squeezed, hammered and strummed.
Tabby plays both solo and with a quartet, trio, and duo. on piano, accordion, Celtic harp and hammer dulcimer. She has been performing and teaching traditional music in the Shenandoah Valley /DC region for decades, is in demand at workshops, dances, weddings and festivals, and is an accomplished dance and session musician. Tabby was a founding member of the BogWanderers Ceili Band, Jug of Punch, the Mighty Possums, and Mucho Gusto.
Concert and teaching venues have included the Augusta Heritage Center, Upper Potomac Dulcimer Festival, Frederick Wintersong Festival, the Smithsonian, Bluemont Dances and Concerts, the Inn at Little Washington, the Waterford Fair, and countless dances, libraries, festivals, and weddings. Tabby has recorded 5 albums and was the pianist on two acclaimed CDs by Sam Rizzetta. Recent concert appearances include shows with Andean group Rumisonko, the Celtic ensemble Jug of Punch, and house concerts as a duo with Patrick Egan.
